Justin Bieber Metaverse Concert

When our client Wave approached us about producing a virtual concert for Justin Bieber we were — quite obviously — thrilled. Bringing an A-list performer to life on the world’s most sophisticated virtual music platform required a deep creative understanding of what our client was looking for and an unparalleled command of state-of-the-art tech. How could we build a concert that was meaningful and fun for its fans while pushing the limits of what was possible on this frontier?

The Challenge

Our first step was to ask the right questions: What visual style was our client looking for? What were the similar experiences that had been produced to-date and how had they been successful or unsuccessful?

Solution

We studied a fast-growing scene of similar experiences on various platforms and came up with a production proposal that would allow us to do it better, more efficiently, on-time & budget.

After agreeing on a plan, we embarked on a 4-month production that would take us from using talent motion capture, spatial audio, vfx and user interactions to produce a world-class experience — a first of its kind for the Justin Bieber team.

Finally, we produced the marketing assets needed for our client to promote the experience on digital and social platforms including trailers, key art and title treatments.

Results

In the end, Wave was extremely happy with the results and became a returning client for future concerts. For us, we gained priceless team knowledge and infrastructure to scale premium experiences in the metaverse - a niche expertise that differentiates us from general outsourcing companies.
